Sawpod team to provide tree climbing training to Sumatran Orangutan Society

Sawpod have long been enthusiastic supporters of the Sumatran Orangutan Society, but now they are to provide hands-on assistance, forming part of a team travelling to Sumatra to help train the rescue teams there in tree climbing. They will use their unique skills to train the rescue teams on proper use of the tree climbing kit and help retrieve sedated Orangutans safely from the trees.

Sumatran orangutans are critically endangered and without urgent action could be the first Great Ape species to become extinct. The Sumatran Orangutan Society (SOS) supports frontline projects and campaigns to protect orangutans and their rainforests and are dedicated to turning this situation around. They do this by:
