Junior workshop technician

Description

As a junior workshop technician, you will join our busy service team in servicing and repairing a variety of 2-stroke, 4-stroke, electric and battery garden machinery; ranging from chainsaws to large ride-on garden tractors. You will also be responsible for pre-delivery build and inspection of new machines.

Full training will be provided for our in-house systems and procedures. Our Senior Technician will also help guide you on specific elements as you develop into the role, but we require someone with basic abilities in the workshop and some hands-on experience would be an advantage.

You will be required to use computerised diagnostic tools and manufacturer parts look-up systems.

All tools will be provided and a full, clean, UK driving licence would be an advantage.

08.00 – 17.00, Monday – Friday
08.00 – 12.00, alternate Saturdays

Salary

Starting from £20,000 – £24,000, dependant on knowledge, experience and skills

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• General service of all types of garden machinery
• Pre-delivery build and inspection of new machines
• Answering customer enquiries
• Spare parts look-up
• Producing appropriate paperwork to accompany all service jobs

Skills and experience

Essential

• Basic computer literacy
• Understanding of basic workshop tools and techniques
• Appreciation of safe working practices when dealing with heavy and/or dangerous machinery

Desirable

• Experience working on small-engine machines
• Experience using computerised parts look-up systems
• Full, clean, UK driving licence
• Experience of working in a similar working environment
• Knowledge of Health and Safety in the workplace
• Experience of providing customer service
