Dave Coupe served for 27 years in the Royal Anglian Regiment

An ex-sergeant major who served with the British Army for 27 years has been left paralysed after falling 30ft from a tree he was cutting down in Long Eaton.

Dave Coupe was rushed to Queen’s Medical Centre where it was confirmed that he had broken his spine, severed his spinal cord, broken six ribs, suffered a bleed on the brain and a collapsed lung. The 50-year-old father-of-two from Breaston, must now lie flat for two weeks and doctors do not know if he will ever walk again, according to Derbyshire Live.

APF 2018

Some pictures from last time!
Some pictures from last time!

The APF is by far the largest arboricultural event of the year so, of course, FR Jones and Son are there with bells on!

Taking place on the 20th, 21st and 22nd September 2018 at Ragley Estate, Warwickshire, this year's show promises to be every bit as full-on as we've come to expect, with around 320 exhibitors and 23,000 visitors expected over the course of the weekend

Our team have been hard at work setting up our stand at the APF and, as usual, we are adhering to our mantra of “go big or go home”, with over 400 square metres of stand, packed to the rafters with chainsaws, harnesses, karabiners, helmets, gloves, protective clothing and much, much more.

Watch the setup in action:

We will have product demonstrations, brand representatives, a try-before-you-buy technical area and bargains galore. Don’t miss your chance to join in, learn something new and grab a great deal – come and see us at stands D1/2/3!

Shiny new website

You may have noticed something different about us recently… No, we haven’t had a haircut, we’ve got a shiny new website!

web-construction

We hope you’ll like all its new features, including live stock availability, an improved search function and completely re-vamped mobile version. As with all new things, it may take a little getting used to – we have had to move things around a bit to fit in with the new system, so you may need to update any saved bookmarks etc.

Our poor, sleep-deprived, web developer has tried their very hardest to ensure everything is working as it should, but if you happen to notice something not quite right over the next few weeks, please let us know so we can sort it out.

We hope you enjoy your new online experience with us!
