ISC Rope wrench ZK-2 with double tether (Grey)

The ZK -2 Singing Tree Rope Wrench (STRW) is manufactured and distributed worldwide by ISC.

The STRW enables Single Rope Technique (SRT) climbing, minimises slack in the system, ensures consistent friction, allows 1:1 efficiency, allows simple re -directs and can easily be set up on multiple limbs. The ZK -2 model has rounded side plates and pins for minimal rope wear. It is fitted with a pulley wheel, to support the rope radius and minimise rope compression.

The ZK2 It is not intended for use as a primary support.

Following the well-publicised intervention by the German Trading Standards authorities ISC were asked to urgently address the issue of the Rope Wrench not being CE marked.

ISC have liaised with the German Authorities and the UK Notified Body for CE testing and can now announce that the Rope Wrench can and will now carry a CE mark.

This CE marking is done under the PPE Directive 89/686/EEC and EN12278 Pulley Standard and, for unavoidable reasons of test methodology, it applies to a combination of tether and wrench.

When supplied without one of the above-mentioned Tethers, the Rope Wrench will not feature a CE Mark, but can only be sold in to countries where CE Marking is not mandatory (e.g. USA) and also where customers in those countries are not forced to buy the approved Tether.

The testing was carried out with an MBS of 24kN which additionally means that the combination of tether and RW exceeds the ANSI minimum strength test criteria of 5000lbs.

Dealers and users should be aware that other tethers may not meet this strength requirement.
