2 x Stihl AP 200 battery

1 x Stihl AL 300 battery charger

The MSA 161 T is the next generation in cordless top handle chainsaws. This light weight chainsaw features a 40% higher chain speed and 15% increase in motor performance over its predecessor, the MSA 160 T. The low profile, ¼ P chain reduces chain chatter for a smooth and precise finish. The battery-powered chainsaw features a trigger side-lock button for added safety, a large throttle interlock lever and carrying ring for attaching the saw for aerial use. The cordless nature of the new saw means that the MSA 161 T is so quiet in operation that ear defenders are not required while working. With a run time of up to 42 minutes with the AP 200 battery (2018 version), this cordless chainsaw is a perfect addition to the fleet. NOTE: For purchase by certified arborists only.

This machine cannot be used with a Stihl AP100 battery.

Side chain tensioner

The tensioning screw can be found on the side of the chain saw through the sprocket cover. This removes the need for contact with the sharp saw chain.

QuickStop Super Chain Brake (Q)

The additional braking system for extra safety. Users can trigger the chain brake directly at the rear handle. The chain stops in seconds whenever the user lets go of the rear handle and whenever there is sufficiently strong kickback or when the front hand guard is activated. This unique safety feature ensures even more user protection in all working positions.

Toolless filler cap

The tank can be filled quickly and easily using the toolless filler cap.

Stihl Electric Motor (EC)

The Stihl electric motor (EC) is extremely energy efficient, lightweight and compact. It runs quietly, generates very low vibrations and does not require servicing.

Hand guard

Ensures clear feedback when engaging or disengaging the chain brake.

New operating system

Side-lock button for increased safety remains locked until this button is pushed in.
